Team building in Copenhagen typically costs around DKK 200 to 600 per person excluding VAT for the activity itself, such as an escape game, a city challenge or a facilitated team competition. Add food and drinks, or make it a full day with a meeting room and catering, and most companies end up between DKK 900 and 2,000 per person.
Good team building is less about the activity and more about what it should do for the team. A new team needs to get to know each other. A busy team might simply need to laugh together. A department in the middle of change needs something else again.
This guide covers prices, shows current examples from providers in and around Copenhagen, and gives ideas for activities the whole team will actually want to join.
How much does team building cost in Copenhagen?
As a first budget, you can work from three levels:
| Type | Guide price per person | Typically included |
|---|---|---|
| Activity only | approx. DKK 200-600 | 1 to 3 hours of activity, equipment and an instructor. Food, drinks and a venue usually come on top |
| Food experience | approx. DKK 950-1,900 | 2.5 to 5 hours cooking together, including the meal and drinks |
| Team day | approx. DKK 900-2,000 | A meeting room and catering for the day plus one or more activities |
The figures are guide prices excluding VAT. They are based on publicly available prices from providers in and around Copenhagen, checked in October 2026.

If the activity is part of a full day, you can add a meeting package. BaneGaarden, for example, offers a 7-hour day meeting with a room, catering and AV for DKK 655 per person excl. VAT.
Why small groups pay more per person
Many providers charge a fixed base fee for the instructor and equipment on top of the price per participant. That makes a big difference for small groups.
Here is a worked example using AWA Teambuilding’s Icebreaker Game at DKK 3,500 plus DKK 250 per participant excl. VAT:
| Participants | Total excl. VAT | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | DKK 6,000 | DKK 600 |
| 20 | DKK 8,500 | DKK 425 |
| 50 | DKK 16,000 | DKK 320 |
| 100 | DKK 28,500 | DKK 285 |
For a small team, an activity without a base fee can therefore be cheaper, even if the price per person looks higher on paper. See also our guide to what a corporate event costs in Denmark if the team building is part of a larger event.
Team building ideas in Copenhagen
Puzzles and escape games
Escape games and riddle hunts bring the team together around a shared task that needs many kinds of strengths. Some spot patterns, some keep the overview, and some are good at talking to the other teams. Outdoor versions around the city add a walk and fresh air.
Active outdoor activities
Laser tag, paintball and activity courses bring energy and competition. They suit teams that know each other and enjoy being physically active. Consider whether everyone wants to, and is able to, take part before choosing something very physical.
Cooking together
Cooking together is team building that ends with a meal. It works for many different people, because it needs someone to lead and others to chop, taste and set the table. It costs more than an activity alone, but food and drinks are included.
Facilitated team competitions
An instructor runs the programme while teams compete in challenges that require cooperation. The advantage is that nobody from your own organisation has to run the day, so everyone can take part.
A team day with a meeting and an activity
Combine a strategy or planning session in the morning with an activity in the afternoon and dinner at the end. The day then has both a working purpose and a social one. A venue with room for both makes it easier, and you can find inspiration among our venues.
Team building without the cringe factor
The best team building is the kind people want to join. A few good rules of thumb:
- Choose an activity with several roles. That way both the quiet and the outgoing can contribute.
- Avoid forced intimacy. Trust falls and personal confessions in front of colleagues rarely work as intended.
- Consider physical ability. Not everyone can or wants to run, climb or be hit by paintballs.
- Think about language. If you have international colleagues, instructions and tasks need to work in English.
- Offer alcohol-free options. The social side should not depend on whether someone drinks.
- Keep it short. Two to three hours of activity is often plenty, and a shared meal afterwards does much of the work.
Ask a couple of colleagues from the team before you choose. It leads to a better choice and more willingness to take part.
Team building on a budget
Team building does not have to be expensive. Escape games and riddle hunts around the city start at around DKK 200 to 300 per person, and several providers come to you, so you can use your own premises.
To keep the budget really low, you can also organise something yourselves: a walk with challenges, a quiz or a picnic in a park. It mostly costs time, so make one person responsible, and remember that this person will not fully be part of it.
How to plan your team building
- Start with the purpose. Should the team get to know each other, work better together or simply have fun?
- Know the group size. Some activities suit 10 people, others 100. Ask about minimum and maximum numbers.
- Choose the length. An activity of 1 to 3 hours, a half day or a full team day.
- Plan for the weather. Outdoor activities need a plan B, and a rain guarantee is not always included in the price.
- Book early. Popular providers and dates can fill up, so start as soon as the date and numbers are clear.
Team building can also be the start of a bigger day. See how we work with team building for companies, or what it costs to turn it into a summer party.
How we found the prices
This guide is based on publicly available prices from:
- City Escape
- Riddlehouse
- Teams i byen
- Kongelunden
- Udstyr til Fest
- AWA Teambuilding
- Timm Vladimirs Køkken
- Meyers
- BaneGaarden (meeting packages)
We use these prices as market benchmarks, not as a guarantee of what a specific event will cost. Prices, VAT, availability and content can change, so a real budget should always be based on current quotes.

Frequently asked questions about team building
How much does team building cost per person in Copenhagen?
The activity itself typically costs around DKK 200 to 600 per person excluding VAT. With food and drinks, or as a full team day with a venue and catering, most companies end up between DKK 900 and 2,000 per person.
How much does team building for 20 people cost?
A 2 to 3-hour activity typically costs around DKK 4,000 to 12,000 excluding VAT for 20 people. With providers that charge a base fee, the price per person can be higher for small groups.
How long should team building last?
Two to three hours is often enough for the activity itself. Many teams finish with dinner, which gives the day a natural ending.
Can team building take place at our office?
Yes. Several providers bring activities and equipment to your premises. Ask about transport, space requirements and whether power or an indoor alternative is needed.
Which team building suits a mixed group?
Activities with several roles and low physical demands, such as riddle hunts, escape games and cooking. Everyone can contribute, whatever their age or fitness.
Are team building prices with or without VAT?
Most providers quote business prices excluding VAT, but not all of them say so clearly. Compare quotes on the same basis, and add 25% VAT where a price is quoted excluding VAT.
